Celebrating The Fifth Anniversary of our First Middle Cut!
We are thrilled to celebrate a significant milestone in our journey - the fifth anniversary of our first middle cut, which was taken at 2:35pm on March 19th 2019. The spirit went into Cask Number 1, a Sherry Butt reserved exclusively for members of the Lagg Cask Society, which was filled on Wednesday 10th April 2019 and sits proudly in Warehouse 1.
Five years on, we reflect on a challenging and incredibly rewarding journey so far with our distillery manager Graham Omand.

Almost one year to the day of the first middle cut the COVID-19 pandemic struck, layering an unprecedented set of complications over our much-anticipated plans! Despite this, we persevered with our passion for peated whisky-making and released our inaugural batches in August 2022.
A whirlwind year later we released our Core Range bottlings - the LAGG Single Malt Kilmory and Corriecravie editions - in the Summer of 2023. These expressions embody the essence of Lagg Distillery and it’s a delight to see them enjoyed by whisky fans around the world.
The buzz of 2023 didn’t end there - we were then awarded Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year by the Scottish Whisky Awards, as well as ‘Excellence in Branding’ and the 2023 Design & Packaging Supreme Champion at the International Spirits Challenge.
In 2024 we have many exciting projects on the horizon, including hosting the 2024 Arran Whisky Festival, a LAGG Single Malt Collaboration with Bute Smokehouse, and a Distillery-exclusive cider made from our first harvest of apples at Lagg.
